In what sources are calling "a classic case of chronic creativity," Shouvik, 19, has spent an alarming number of hours filling sketchbooks, tablets, and miscellaneous napkins with artwork described as "genuinely pretty good, actually."
Shouvik's creative career began somewhere between childhood doodles and a suspiciously long boredom phase. What started as scribbles in the margins of notebooks has since evolved into a recognisable body of work — mostly digital, occasionally traditional, always his own.
"I just kind of kept going," Shouvik reportedly told no one in particular. His Instagram, @shouvik_2007, now hosts a growing catalogue of illustrations ranging from the introspective to the simply cool-looking.
Neighbours confirm the lights in his room stay on at unreasonable hours. A half-eaten snack and an open drawing app are usually involved.
Critics — or rather, people who have scrolled the gallery — note a consistent aesthetic sensibility across the pieces: an eye for mood, a willingness to experiment, and a signature something that is hard to pin down but easy to recognise.
His medium of choice skews digital, though sources report occasional outbreaks of traditional media "when the vibe calls for it." He cites anime, music, and the general experience of existing as his primary inspirations.
Asked about his process, he described it as: "listen to music, stare at the canvas for too long, then somehow it works out." Art historians note this is, broadly speaking, how most art happens.
Currently navigating the dual identity of undergrad and full-time creative, Shouvik maintains that more work is on the way — a claim backed by the "more coming soon" notice at the bottom of his gallery.
He is, by all accounts, open to collaborations. His Discord, YouTube, and Spotify presence suggest a person who exists across many platforms simultaneously, perhaps as a way of covering all possible artistic bases.
The Shouvik Gazette will continue to monitor developments. Good day.
